Palladian helps Teddies have a very special day out!
More than 200 teddies together with their owners and a few mums and dads joined Colchester Mayor Henry Spyvee for a very special sell-out concert at the Town Hall sponsored by Palladian Press. The annual Teddy Bears Concert was put on by the Colne Valley Youth Orchestra to help raise money for the Mayor's Charities.
Children clapped and danced along with their teddies to the sounds of popular orchestral tunes such as the Can Can (Orpheus and the Underworld) and popular nursery tunes such as the Teddy Bears Picnic and the Ugly Duckling.
As well as being given a guided tour of the orchestra by Conductor Nigel Hildreth and members of the orchestra, children were invited to conduct the orchestra and play percussion instruments.
Colchester Mayor, Henry Spyvee described the event as "fantastic". More than 400 pounds was raised for his chosen charities. Nigel Hildreth said Palladian Press' support in producing professional flyers, posters and programmes had helped make the event a wonderful success.
