A website built by Palladian sister company, Pinstripe Creative, for Colchester United FC captain Karl "Doogie" Duguid has brought two fans face-to-face with their hero at the club's brand-new stadium. The two fans' luck started when they visited Karl's site at www.karlduguid.co.uk and used it to drop him an email.
The message was picked up by Pinstripe, who passed it on to keen "U's" fan and Palladian Sales and Marketing Director, Steve Green, who got straight on the phone to Doogie. Shortly afterwards they met with fans James Woods and Martin Brightside at Colchester's new Cuckoo Farm stadium, which is still under construction.
James and Martin were thrilled to meet Doogie, who is not only the club's longest serving player, but also its most popular. Since he joined the "U's" 13 years ago via a YTS scheme, he's made over 400 appearances under 5 different managers.
The trip also gave Doogie the chance to see the building work for the first time. He was delighted to see that the main stand had been completed, and that work was progressing well on the east stand. Everyone, though, agreed that the best sight of all was Colchester United's flag flying above the ground.
