- REAM - 500 sheets of paper.
- REGISTRATION MARKS - marks put into artwork to ensure perfect alignment or registration during the print process.
- REVERSED OUT - type or images that appear the opposite to how they have been created, for example white on a black background becomes black on a white background.
- RESOLUTION - the number of dots per inch (DIP) in an image or photograph. The higher the DPI, the better the resolution and print detail.
- RIP - Raster Image Processor: an electronic process that creates a bitmap that can be used by the printing press. The software that creates the bitmap can be contained within the imagesetter or can be standalone.
